A historical leader in the field, Artelia designs dams and hydropower development projects along with the associated structures (locks, canals, tunnels, irrigation areas). Artelia is currently designing and supervising the construction of 10 major dam and hydro projects throughout the world.
Artelia is finalising the construction of the Felou low-head project on the left bank of the River Senegal (Mali, 60 MW) on behalf of the OMVS-SOGEM, is supervising the Rusumo medium-head project (Rwanda, 80 MW) on behalf of NELSAP and the Naga Hammadi low-head project on the Nile (Egypt, 32 MW).
Artelia is designing the Fufu high-head project (Malawi, 150 MW), and medium-head projects at Bétérou (Benin, 50 MW) and Bagré downstream (Burkina Faso, 26 MW).
Artelia is also working on the rehabilitation of hydropower projects, designing the new feeder canal for Inga I and II (Democratic Republic of the Congo, 1630 MW).
Artelia also has experience of working on smaller projects (micro power plants) and designed, supervised the construction and commissioned the new Fredet Berges mini power plant (France, 3.6 MW).
