In 2015, Artelia International launched the "Safety Conference", a round-table event bringing together important stakeholders from the world of construction - financial institution, end user or developer, industrial group, project manager, contractor - in order to share experiences and best practices on common safety issues. The first of these meetings was held in Paris on 16 April 2015.
The 2016 conference in France was organised conjointly by Artelia International and Artelia Bâtiment & Industrie in Paris on Wednesday 30 March. It was facilitated by Pascal Thévenet and Didier Lanfranchi, with participation from the Groups Total, Vinci, Shell, Eiffage, Nexity, Saint-Gobain, Bolloré, Banque de France and Bouygues.
The meeting focused on the theme "People and the fundamental role they play in the continuous improvement of safety". Debates were held on the subject of "How to engage the different stakeholders - in the office and in the field".
The discussions were rich and extremely interesting. They have galvanised and motivated us to continue our efforts in instilling a true safety culture within Artelia.
The meeting's participants left with the firm intention of continuing the Safety Conference on an annual basis and to pursue work on specific common issues. It has been provisionally decided that the next session will concentrate on sub-contracting with discussions on example case studies presented by different speakers.

The Artelia Group is rallying its staff around a special day dedicated to Health & Safety issues, for which the slogan is: “I act for health and safety!”
This event is a great opportunity for us to improve our knowledge of this issue, which must remain one of our main everyday concerns, and to share our best practices with our partners, clients and subcontractors, who are essential players in the context of our projects.
The main themes for 2016 are the main risks we face at our building sites, security in sensitive countries, how to take Health & Safety into consideration when conducting our assignments for our clients, and ergonomics in our working environment. Events, training courses and discussion workshops will be organised at different group sites and certain building sites in different countries around the world.
From prevention to action, on 17 March, it’s My Safety Day!
