Water resources management

Evaluating, mobilising and protecting water resources are part of Artelia’s traditional activities and the company has extremely wide-ranging experience and knowledge of hydraulics, hydrogeology, hydrology, geomorphology, agronomy and the environment. In France, Artelia is determining the volumes of water that can be abstracted and the target low-flow rates for several river catchments.

Artelia completed an environmental assessment of the 4th “Nitrates Directive” action programme in several regions of France, is helping municipal authorities reduce their use of plant protection products, and is currently working on several water management and river development schemes.

In Algeria, Artelia’s hydrogeologists have developed decision-aid models for several major aquifers and studied the upgrading of ten thermal springs of national importance. In New Caledonia, they modelled the drainage of mine trenches and their impacts on rivers and groundwater.
