Waterways, canals and locks

Inland waterway traffic is increasing at a fast rate, and this has driven various States to renovate their ageing installations and open up new waterways. Artelia works on the rehabilitation of numerous structures and the creation of new ones. For this purpose it is able to draw on a range of canal, dam and lock engineering skills and studies the various issues connected with approach currents and the operation of large-capacity locks. For the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, Artelia provided hydraulic and hydrogeological assistance to Voies Navigables de France (VNF). Artelia is also designing and supervising the reconstruction of Vives-Eaux and Coudray-Monceau dams on behalf of VNF.
