GEOTHERMAL

Artelia has recognised expertise in the design and implementation of complete shallow geothermal energy systems.

OUR SERVICES

Its highly experienced hydrogeology specialists manage many projects in the field of shallow, or very low-temperature, geothermal energy (down to depths of approximately 200 m and with average operating temperatures of 10 to 30°C). The Group handles the complete installation process, from mobilisation of the groundwater resources (the primary loop) to the design and commissioning of the heat exchanger inside the building.

The Group contributes to geothermal projects right from the preliminary studies, assessing the resources and the potential techniques (tube wells tapping aquifers, vertical geothermal probes, or probe fields, built into foundations in some cases). It then oversees roll-out of the complete geothermal system, generally for the purpose of heating and/or cooling buildings.

Accredited by French government ministries and specialist organisations, Artelia is often asked to perform expert appraisals on shallow geothermal energy projects. The Group also performs studies and uses modelling techniques to improve the management of geothermal resources, especially in the context of groundwater heat pump systems, over large areas.
