Traffic Study in Downtown Saint-Hyacinthe
For a development vision consistent with citizens’ mobility needs
In 2021, the City of Saint-Hyacinthe drew up an action plan aimed at improving traffic flow, enhancing road safety and promoting mobility in the region over the following years. To achieve these objectives, the City Council sought to go beyond subjective impressions by obtaining a complete overview of the current and future situation, taking into account the various modes of transport used by residents, visitors and workers.

CONTEXT & ISSUES
The traffic study conducted by our teams was carried out at various times of the year, and included daytime, night-time, weekday and weekend traffic counts at several intersections and downtown parking lots. Thanks to this exhaustive approach, we were able to provide the city with a representative sample and reliable data, enabling it to make a precise diagnosis of the situation and anticipate future developments.
The collaboration between our Intelligent Mobility department and our drone pilots from the Surveying department has enabled us to provide a service specifically tailored to the City’s particular needs.
Drones equipped with smart cameras offer superior image quality and enhanced visual support, facilitating more accurate data visualization. These cutting-edge tools enable us to offer flexible services to adapt to specific project requirements.
